Pakistani actress Saba Qamar’s starrer Bollywood movie, Hindi Medium, dropped its first trailer and we are definitely impressed.
The movie, which also stars Irrfan Khan, pivots around the life of a middle-class family that crosses all limits to ensure the admission of their daughter in an English medium school.
The narrative, which is based on a real-life story, brings out the struggles and hardship of people from an unprivileged background in this time and age where the English language is treated as a mark of respect and status.
In the trailer, both the leads seemed to have put their best foot forward and mesmerise the audience with their acting.
You can watch the trailer here:
Speaking about the movie, Saba had told a local newspaper, “It's a family-oriented story of a husband and wife. It has a young, fresh vibe and the wife is a little dominating. People will surely like it. The film is a little like that Deepika film, Piku."
The film has been directed by Saket Chaudhry of Shaadi Ke Side Effects and Pyaar Ke Side Effects fame. The movie will be released on May 12.
Saba had also ventured out to Bollywood following the success of Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan. However, escalating tensions between the two countries led Indian government to place an unofficial ban on Pakistani actors. Only time will tell if Saba is allowed to promote the movie in India or not.
Twitterati also showed their support for the concept of the movie.
