Eight killed as coach plunges into ravine near Quetta

QUETTA: At least eight people were killed while 20 others were injured when a coach overturned near Mastung in Balochistan Friday morning, according to rescue sources. 

The coach was en route to Quetta from Karachi when it plunged into a ravine, said the rescue sources. They added the accident took place when the driver lost control of the steering at Lak Pass near Mastung.

The injured were taken to the hospital.

Lak Pass is situated on a height, between Quetta and Mastung districts. The vehicle fell into a ravine which is towards the Mastung side.

Accidents on unpaved and narrow roads in Balochistan are a common occurrence.

A few weeks back seven of a family, including a woman and her five children were killed when a vehicle crashed on the roof of a mud house in Quetta.

The rescue sources had said the dumper crashed when its driver lost control of the steering.
