Four killed as coach overturns in Jamshoro

DADU: Four people were killed, while 20 others were injured when a passenger coach overturned near Bhan Saeedabad in Jamshoro Sunday morning, according to the police.

The accident took place on Indus Highway when the coach driver hit the brakes to save the motorcycle driver who had suddenly appeared on the Indus Highway.

The injured were shifted to the hospital nearby, said the police. Doctors at the hospital said the condition of five out of 20 people was critical.

Deadly accidents have taken place earlier in the district.

In February, a student lost her life when a bus of University of Sindh hit her.

Saima Memon, who was a third-year student at the physics department, was shifted to Civil Hospital Jamshoro, where she was declared dead.

Her killing enraged the students who surrounded the bus to protest against the university administration.

The accident was the second, in eight days, involving a University of Sindh bus.

Earlier, a student lost his life after he fell off from the university’s bus.
