KARACHI: Those who were agitated at the closure of Shahra-e-Faisal should be ready for the entire city to be shut down, said Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal on Sunday.
The people who are facing trouble in giving basic facilities to their families will take to the streets and even the entire province, Sindh, could be closed down, he said while talking to the media. "We will not move an inch from our 16-point charter of demands."
Kamal was speaking at a news conference to welcome Pakistan Muslim League-Functional's Nawab Rashid into the PSP.
"Rashid bhai said he will spend the rest of his life working for this good cause," Kamal said.
On May 14, the PSP's 'Million March', demanding basic necessities for Karachi's residents was intercepted when party workers tried to enter the city's Red Zone. Police had baton-charged party workers and officials and also arrested several, including Kamal, who were later released.
The step was taken to prevent the party workers and officials from marching towards the Chief Minister House where the city commissioner had imposed Section 144, banning assembly of people.
