PESHAWAR: Four people died and one was injured when their car was fired at by unidentified persons near the suburban area of Matani late Monday night, Geo News reported.

Among the deceased are Matani aman lashkar (peace committee) leader Irshad and his colleagues Waheed, Muhammad Ali, and Imtiaz, police revealed, adding that the injured man – identified as Mohsin – was reportedly a friend of the deceased.

Security officials added that the injured man has been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, while the bodies have been transferred to Khyber Medical College mortuary.

The firing incident was allegedly based on a prolonged personal enmity, police claimed.
