The raid was carried out over information provided by terrorists who were arrested a few days back. The terrorists, Muhammad Ilyas and Daud, belonged to Sheikh Khalid group of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

On March 17, a terrorist attempt was foiled when a Frontier Corps soldier stopped suicide bombers from attacking an FC training centre in Shabqadar, Charsadda.

One FC soldier embraced martyrdom while another soldier was injured when suicide bombers stormed the FC training centre located at around 6AM, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

In retaliatory fire, the FC soldiers killed two suicide bombers, foiling the suicide bombing bid, ISPR statement added.

Speaking to the media, FC Commandant Liaquat Ali said the terrorists attacked early in the morning. “Within no time the army and FC arrived to help. Everyone is united in this war and helping each other out."
