Health experts and nutritionists from across the country all agree that fasting in the holy month not only keeps one healthy but also helps releases toxins which not only make one fit but also increase the immune system of the body.

Following are some of health tips everyone should adhere to this Ramzan in light of the hot weather:

- Take milk or lassi at Sehri to avoid thirst till Iftaar time

- Don’t consume very oily or unhygienic items like parathas and curry

- Take at least two glasses of mild-temperature water before fasting

- Avoid oily samosas and pakoray

- Better to limit one’s physical activity in the day time

- A change in routine, like fasting, can lead to constipation. To reduce this effect, have a fibre rich diet

- Consume fruits and vegetables at both meals in Ramzan

- Begin Ifaar with dates which provide an immediate source of energy

- Wear light colours and cover the head or use an umbrella, especially from 10am till 5pm
