FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) dismissed on Tuesday three more students for criticising the varsity on social media.

So far, six students have been dismissed by the university’s disciplinary advisory committee over similar charges.

The students have been identified as Masters students Umer Bilal of horticulture, Muhammad Asfandyar of agronomy, Zubair Bilal of breeding and genetics, Ghulam Jillani of management sciences, and Ahsan Safdar and Mubashir Ali of tunnel farming diploma.

According to the disciplinary committee's notification, the identified students were using a Facebook page to bring 'bad name' to the university.

Moreover, several other students are currently under investigation.

UAF Principal Officer Public Relations and Publications Dr Arif Jalal said that the students who have been dismissed can appeal to the university’s administration.

University students say that such measures are against students’ rights to expression.
