Three, including two women, killed in Mardan firing

MARDAN: One man and two women were killed while a girl was injured when the vehicle they were in was fired at Friday morning on Swabi Road in Mardan.

Initial investigation has revealed the incident was a result of an old enmity, where the man was targetted by his opponents, said the police.

According to the police, a man was boarding a Qingqi when his opponents opened fire at him. Subsequently, the man and two women, already present in the vehicle, died on the spot. A girl who was with the women was injured in the firing.

After the incident, police reached the spot, shifting the injured girl and bodies to District Headquarters Hospital Mardan, while a search for the culprits was under way.

The deceased man belonged to Rostam Machhi area in Mardan, while the two women were from Jahangirabad area of Takht Bai. The women were returning from a relative's house when the incident occurred.
