BRUSSELS: European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said Monday she doesn't care about issues stemming from WikiLeaks' release of 250,000 confidential US diplomatic cables.
After chairing an EU foreign ministers meeting, Ashton was asked at a press conference whether the ministers raised the implications of the leaks for EU cables and whether she feared her own cables could be made public.
"No we didn't and I don't care," she replied.
US President Barack Obama has denounced the whistle-blowing website's leaks as "deplorable" and various countries have tried to close down the site, sending it jumping from server to server in a bid to stay online.
