WASHINGTON: After the sudden demise of Holbrooke – the US’s special diplomat on the affairs of Pakistan and Afghanistan – Frank Ruggiero has been opted being the acting replacement of former for the job, Geo News exclusively reported.

Frank Ruggiero has taken charge of office as acting diplomat on Pakistan and Afghanistan.

US state department’s spokesman Philip. J. Crowley announced appointment of Frank Ruggiero for the post amid a daily briefing.

New US’s special envoy was previously working as deputy/second to late Richard Holbrooke and was appointed on that position in 2009.

Ruggiero has also served being head of US Bureau of Military Affairs (USBMA) besides having working experience in Commerce Department.
