Three suspected Sehwan blast facilitators released

DADU: Three people arrested on suspicion of facilitating the Sehwan blast on February 16 have been released by the police.

According to the police, two members of the Dadu district council, Muneer Khan Jamali and Abdul Aziz Jamali, were among four people arrested from Johi a few days after the deadly bombing in February. Muneer and Jamali were elected to the district council on the ticket of Pakistan Peoples Party. The two others included locals Ghulam Rasool and Habibullah.

However, police said, Jamali, Rasool and Habibullah were released as the charges levelled against them have not been proved. But district council member Muneer remains under custody.

The workers of PPP, family members of the arrested people and district council members had held protests in Johi, an area in Dadu, for the release of Jamali and Muneer.

A suicide explosion at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan city of Jamshoro District on February 16 claimed the lives of over 100 people and left many others injured.

Many suspects were arrested after the blast during raids in different parts of the country.
