ISLAMABAD: The ruling Sharif family has prepared a petition to challenge the joint investigation team (JIT) report against it in the Panama Leaks case, sources said Friday.

The petition, which includes key points challenging the probe report, is likely to be submitted in the Supreme Court on Saturday, sources said. It would be submitted by the Sharifs' legal team led by Khawaja Haris.

The petition objects to repeated addition of several documents by the Panama case JIT in its report. It raises objection over alleged discriminatory behaviour of the probe team, complaining of use of derogatory words about some witnesses, according to sources.

Other objections raised in the petition include addition of unverified documents to the report, or those based on sources, and twisting witnesses' testimonies.

The legal team of Sharif family would move the apex court to first announce verdict on this petition, sources added.
