ISLAMABAD: They [Sharifs] will not be able to show their face anywhere once the video recordings of the joint investigation team (JIT) are made public, said Pakistan Peoples Party leader Qamar Zaman Kaira.

Addressing the media on Tuesday after the Supreme Court hearing on the Panama Papers case, he said the bench has set aside the objections raised by the Sharif family to the JIT report.

The former information minister said the judges, during Tuesday’s hearing, repeatedly asked the Sharif family’s counsel to provide any evidence in their defence.

The JIT submitted its final probe report to the Supreme Court’s special implementation bench on July 10. The report has claimed that the prime minister owns assets beyond his known sources of income.

The Supreme Court heard arguments from the petitioners on Monday and the prime minister's counsel on Tuesday over the JIT report.

The hearing was later adjourned till Wednesday when the respondents’ counsels will present their arguments.

Kaira and other senior leaders of the party, including opposition leader Khursheed Shah, attended Tuesday's hearing at the apex court.
