ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned on Thursday the Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh twice in a row over Indian violations along the Line of Control (LoC).

Moreover, a protest was recorded and demarche handed over to JP Singh.

On Wednesday, a Pakistan Army soldier and two civilians were martyred after Indian troops opened unprovoked firing along LoC, according to ISPR.

Two soldiers and five civilians were also injured in the firing along Nezapir, Sabzkot and Kayani sectors.

Retaliatory fire by Pakistan Army troops destroyed the Indian posts responsible for the firing and killed five Indian troops and injured many others.

Earlier on Wednesday, FO had summoned JP Singh over violation of ceasefire agreements by Indian troops a day earlier.

The foreign ministry's Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal handed over a similar demarche to Singh.

Indian forces had resorted to unprovoked firing on Sunday and targeted a Pakistan Army vehicle across the Line of Control.

Indian forces fired on the vehicle at Athmaqam area of Neelum from across the LoC, the ISPR, in fresh violation of the ceasefire agreement between the two countries. As a consequence, four soldiers were martyred after the vehicle plunged into the Neelum River.
