SUKKUR: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Monday lashed out at Nawaz Sharif for staging rally which was “against state institutions”.

Addressing an event earlier today, Shah recalled the occasion when Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari were removed from office.

“Nawaz and Shehbaz played a big role in disqualifying Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari, do they not remember that time?” he remarked.

“When we were trying to [abolish] Articles 62, 63 Nawaz Sharif had ‘conspiracy’ on his mind,” Shah alleged, adding, “Nawaz was thinking of applying those articles against Zardari in the memo scandal.”

Taking aim at the PML-N’s ‘show of force’ rally, Shah claimed it cost “at least Rs 40-50 crore”.

“Mian sahib, be silent now. Come back when you are restored,” the opposition leader said.

Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif took out a four-day rally, setting out from Islamabad and making several stopovers along the GT Road before finally reaching the destination Lahore on Saturday.
