KARACHI: Three bodies were found dumped near Super Highway Northern Bypass early Monday, police said.
The bodies were discovered near a police post. All three of the deceased had been shot dead, according to the police.
A note was found alongside the bodies which stated that the deceased were involved in target-killing of Volunteer Force personnel last Thursday.
The note further stated that the deceased used the name of a militant outfit to carry out attacks on police officials, and today they were shot in ‘revenge killing’.
Last week, a Volunteer Force personnel was killed and another injured in a firing incident near the Northern Bypass on Super Highway. According to SSP Malir Rao Anwar, both the volunteers were headed home after finishing the day’s duty when they were shot at.
In a separate incident earlier today, four suspects were taken into police custody during a search operation carried out near Bakra Piri near the metropolis' Malir locale, SSP Malir Rao Anwar said.
The police official explained that the detained suspects were arrested while they were looting citizens coming to Bakra Piri to buy sacrificial animals ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Weapons, mobile phones, and cash were recovered from the suspects, he added.
