JAMSHORO: The police on Wednesday nabbed Ali Nohani, the last remaining accused in the Tania Khaskheli murder case.

A landlord of Jhangara Bajara town of Sehwan, Khan Nohani, along with his associates allegedly shot dead grade-10 student Tania in her house after her family refused to marry off their daughter to Khan.

Ali and Khan were named as the primary accused in the case by Tania’s family, which reportedly received threats for bringing the case to the media’s attention.

While the police managed to apprehend Khan in a police encounter in Dureji area of Balochistan on September 18, Ali Nohani remained at large until his arrest today from forests in Sanghar's Landho vicinity.

During the investigation, it surfaced that Ali aided Khan in fleeing from the crime scene, SSP Jamshoro Irfan Bahadur said.

After the incident was reported in the media, the local SHO was suspended on the orders of the Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah for failing to arrest the culprits.

Sindh High Court Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh had taken notice of the incident and issued directives to the police to submit a progress report to the court.

Four suspects identified as Nazir Solangi, Nadeem Sheikh, Baaqir Sheikh and Nadir Nohani, were arrested by the Jamshoro police in a raid in Matiari on September 22. The arrested men are accused of playing the role of facilitators in Tania's murder.
