Five women attacked with sharp object over two days in Karachi
All the incidents are said to have taken place in Gulistan-e-Jauhar

KARACHI: Five women attacked with a sharp weapon were brought to a hospital in Gulistan-e-Jauhar over the previous two days.
The women were taken to a private facility, Darul Sehat Hospital, for treatment. According to the hospital administration, the women — aged between 22 and 28 years — had wounds on the lower parts of their body.
Since the wounds were not deep, the patients were discharged after initial treatment.
All five cases were reported from the same area, Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
According to the police, families of the attacked women did not report the cases. Police said they got to know about the incident through intelligence sources. It had yet to be ascertained why families of the women did not inform the police.
However, Sindh IG AD Khawaja has sought report of the incident from DIG East.
The inspector general has directed authorities concerned to contact the hospital administration for the women’s statements and add them to the sought report.
