Cricketer Imad Wasim refutes 'fan's' allegations

Cricketer Imad Wasim took to Twitter to refute all allegations of promising to marry a fan late Wednesday. 

Pictures of the cricketer with an unknown female sparked a social media frenzy earlier in the week. 

The girl claims to have met Wasim in London and also alleges that the cricketer promised to marry her but then refused to acknowledge her later on.

"A fan took pictures with me and then people alleged that I got married to her," he said. "Then another picture [with another fan] surfaced and people alleged that she [this fan] was my girlfriend and I was cheating on my 'wife.' 

Wasim denied all of the allegations levelled against him and said he was 'completely single' and never promised to marry anyone.

"I request all media channels to not spread such rumours only because they need 'spice' [in their news bulletins]," he said. "Please respect my family and my privacy...I have never made a video to refute any allegations [levelled against me] in the past [but I have been forced to do so this time around]."     

In the video, uploaded on the microblogging website, the cricketer requested media channels to not defame anyone by running [unverified] 'breaking news'.
