KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to hold at least two matches of the upcoming PSL edition in Karachi, which brings the total number of matches being planned in Pakistan to four.

Reliable sources in the PCB have confirmed to Geo.tv on Tuesday that at least two of the matches of PSL 2018 are being planned for Karachi.

PCB’s Chairman Najam Sethi is set to meet the main stakeholders in the city on Wednesday to formally discuss and plan the arrangements for the PSL matches in Karachi.

Najam confirmed that he would be meeting Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday morning to discuss organising the matches in the metropolis.

Sources privy to the matter said that the chairman of PCB will discuss security and coordination of police with rangers and army for the PSL matches as it was done in Lahore during the World XI games and PSL final.

Meanwhile, the renovation and facelift work of Karachi’s national stadium is also set to commence in an attempt to make stadium ready for these matches.

PCB successfully hosted the final of PSL earlier this year in Lahore, the final in Lahore provided PCB an opportunity to showcase security arrangements.

This year, PCB is planning to host four games of PSL in Pakistan, the matches include three playoffs and the final of the tournament.

PCB officials are hopeful that PSL games in Karachi will host doors of international Cricket to Karachi as well.
