Police seize rockets, explosives from TTP terrorists in Karachi

KARACHI: Police in Karachi seized arms, ammunition, explosive material and rockets in New Karachi Industrial Area on Saturday during a snap-checking exercise.

SSP Central Irfan Baloch told Geo News that SHO Irfan Asif along with his team was conducting a routine snap-checking exercise when they stopped a Suzuki pickup and conducted a search. They discovered and seized three rockets, five landmines, a TT pistol and ammunition concealed under piles of fabric.

The police arrested two members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) identified as Muhammed Sultan and Abdul Rehman aka Shaakir who were trying bring the weapons into Karachi for a terrorist attack.

Further investigation from the detained terrorists is being conducted.

SSP Irfan Baloch further told Geo News that the Suzuki pickup had been stolen a few days earlier from Sharifabad area of the metropolis.
