ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada reiterated on Monday that Shehbaz Sharif, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s brother and chief minister of Punjab, should take over control of the party.

The PML-N leader, while speaking to the media in his chambers, said that he says simple things but everyone gets cross over them.

“Shehbaz Sharif is an obedient brother and that’s why I said that he should take over the party and I still adhere to my statement,” said Pirzada.

He said that there is no double meaning or conspiracy behind his words.

“We don’t object to Nawaz’s leadership but we are concerned how the party will win the next elections,” said Pirzada.

Last week, in an apparent sign of a revolt, Pirzada suggested that the Shehbaz would be the best choice to lead the party.

He said that there will be a vacuum in the party if Shehbaz was not made the president.

Shehbaz's advice to the party should be accepted, as he was dealing with the public opinion in a better way, he had said.
