LAHORE: Fast bowler Mohammad Amir is likely to make his home debut in the historic T20 match against Sri Lanka today, replacing injured Usman Khan Shinwari, sources close to the matter said.

Shinwari is suffering from a side strain which has made his inclusion in today’s playing XI doubtful. The 23-year old's injury, however, is not of a serious nature and he is expected to be fit after 10-15 days' rest, PCB sources said.

For Mohammad Amir, who has recovered from a shin injury he picked during the Test series against Sri Lanka, today's match would mark his international debut on Pakistani soil.

Out-of-form opener Ahmed Shehzad is expected to be dropped out of today's game. Umar Amin, who is part of the T20 squad but yet to play, will open alongside Fakhar Zaman today, according to sources.

Bowling all-rounder Amir Yamin could replace Imad Wasim.

Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq had hinted during a press talk over the weekend that new talent would be given a chance in Sunday’s match.

The T20 will start at 6:00pm (PST); the start time has been brought forward by an hour due to prevailing weather and dew conditions in Lahore.
