15 bullet-ridden bodies discovered in Balochistan's Turbat

QUETTA: Levies officials discovered on Wednesday 15 bullet-ridden bodies in Buleda area of Turbat, Kech District. 

The victims, mostly in their youth, are said to be natives of Punjab.

Sources said the bodies, recovered from a mountainous area of the district, have been sent to Civil Hospital Turbat for a post-mortem. 

The district administration said that 11 of the 15 bodies have been identified. The deceased, mainly in their youth, hailed from Punjab's cities of Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin and Sialkot. 

Sources said the deceased individuals were trying to illegally cross the border into Iran an onward to Europe. 

Ethnic violence in Balochistan against settlers is also common. 

Levies officials are investigating the incident.
