PAF wins CAS Challenge Polo Cup

LAHORE: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) won 26th Chief of Air Staff Challenge Polo Cup by defeating Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) with 5 goals to 9 in the final match played here on Sunday.

Shah Qubali Alam, Flight Lieutenant Hamza, Squadron Leader Humayun and Air Vice Marshal Amir Masood scored 5, 2, 1 and 1 goals respectively for the winning team during the enthralling final.

For the runners-up team, Sub Inspector Amanat and Zarrar Abbasi scored 2 and 1 goals respectively, and two handicapped goals were given.

The final match of the tournament was witnessed by high ranking military and civil officials and a large number of polo enthusiasts.

Air Marshal Farooq Habib, acting Chief of the Air Staff, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the tournament held at Pakistan Park Lahore.

Six teams including Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Air Force (Blue), Zacky Farms, Stallions and Archers participated in the seven-day long tournament which started on November 13.

Later, the chief guest awarded CAS Challenge Cup to the winning team and gave away prizes to best performers.
