LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has taken sincere steps to transform the hardships of people into happiness and joy.

"Due to solid economic policies of the government, the country has begun its journey on the road to development," he said while speaking to elected representatives.

"Pakistan of today is much more peaceful, secure and prosperous than before."

The chief minister said defeated political elements have always tried to spread a sense of deprivation among the public, but his government continued the journey of development despite sit-ins and lockdowns.

"It is really encouraging that mega development projects have been completed in a record period of time with transparency. The performance of the government is evident to the people and we would win the next elections on the basis of it," he said.

Shehbaz said the country's history is a witness to PML-N's politics of public service, adding the government has been designing policies keeping in view the internal and external challenges.

"The positive results of these policies are fully visible to the people and the country is moving forward."

He pointed out that peace has been restored in the country and employment opportunities have increased, as well.

The chief minister added the PML-N government is following a comprehensive programme to resolve real issues being faced by the country.

"Due to sincere efforts, energy crisis and terrorism have been overcome to a large extent, whereas there is negligible load-shedding in the country at present."

The Punjab CM said his party's government had set records of transparency, quality and speed in development projects, and these projects are an example of their own with regard to transparency.

Shehbaz further said the incumbent government has laid the foundation of a prosperous, developed and peaceful Pakistan.

"We are furthering our development agenda by pursuing the golden principles of hard work, trust and honesty."

Shehbaz also said politics of falsehood has lost its credibility in the eyes of the people and the elements involved in it have no concern with problems facing the people.

"We are actively working to make Pakistan fully developed in the light of sayings of the founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah," he said.

"We only believe in public service and this journey of service to humanity would continue in future as well," the CM concluded.
