Child killed as father fails to return borrowed amount in Faisalabad

Lender opened fire in Waris’ house where his six-year-old daughter was killed after getting bullet wounds

FAISALABAD: A six-year-old girl was killed due to a dispute over Rs40,000.

According to the police, the girl’s father Waris had taken a loan of Rs40,000 on interest. The lender had asked Waris to return the loan soon, but over his failure to do so the former opened fire in the latter’s house.

Waris said the accused, Mithho Cheema came to his house where they exchanged harsh words as he had failed to arrange the amount to return. Subsequently, the deceased’s father said, Cheema opened firing during which his daughter got bullet wounds and she succumbed to death.

Police said six-year-old Humera was killed in a house in Ilahiabad area of Faisalabad. The accused managed to flee the site.

Humera’s body was taken for post-mortem and later returned to her family, while police started searching for the accused, arresting his brothers in the meantime.
