At least two dead, four injured in firing outside Islamabad imambargah

ISLAMABAD: At least two people were killed and four others were injured in an incident of firing outside an imambargah in the federal capital. 

Two unidentified gunmen, riding a motorcycle, opened fire and fled from the scene.

One person died on the spot, while police later confirmed that one of the injured succumbed to his wounds taking the death toll to two.

The incident took place in the I-8 locality of the city.

Emergency services shifted the injured to PIMS hospital and police started an investigation into the incident.

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, leader of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen, expressed sorrow over the incident saying the Islamabad administration has failed in prevention of crime.

He said they have foiled such wicked conspiracies in the past and will continue to do so.

A spokesman for Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Fiqh- Jafaria (TNFJ) also denounced the incident maintaining there is no sectarian divide in the country.
