KARACHI: The changes made in Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan's (MQM-P) constitution by senior party leader Farooq Sattar were "ordered by someone else", its deputy convener Kamran Tessori claimed Monday night.
"However, the party had called a meeting and did away with those changes," Tessori told Aapas Ki Baat host Muneeb Farooq last night.
"Now, MQM-P is out of turmoil," he added.
Tessori noted that they will not be pressurized by "anyone, anymore" now and that they do not intend to form an electoral alliance with political parties.
Earlier, on Sunday, the deputy convener had said every party had "difference of opinions", referring to the reports of his and peer Ali Raza's reservations with the MQM-P.
Speaking at a press conference here in the city, he had said sometimes "we get associated with London [MQM-London]" and at different times, we are grouped with "others".
"The character assassination of Ali Raza and myself is being done as part of a conspiracy," he had stated.
Tessori had warned of parting ways with the party should it change since he and Ali Raza "don’t desire any change in the MQM-P that I had joined".
He had said he and Ali Raza would put forward their reservations to senior party leader Farooq Sattar for consideration when he returns from Hyderabad.
Tessori then added that they "will announce a plan of action for the future should discussion over reservations ends futilely".
