SARGODHA: A man was killed on Sunday by his friends when he asked for Rs5,000 that he had lent them.

According to the police, 40-year-old Adeel Abbas — also known as Mujahid — had given Rs5,000 to Arsalan and Irfan.

On Sunday, Mujahid got into an altercation with Arsalan and Irfan over the amount, because of which the latter two opened fire on him, the police said.

The murdered person was working as a truck driving to earn a living. His body was send to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Sillanwali, while police filed the case of the incident.

Incidents of murder and robbery are common in Sargodha.

In September, police arrested an 18-year-old girl in Sargodha, who had been robbing people by solemnising fake marriage with them.

The girl had married seven times over a span of four months, depriving several families of their valuable possessions.

The issue came to attention after robbed grooms Allah Dutta and Azhar Mahmood presented their nikkah contracts before a sessions court. Sources said the accused, Sana, would disappear after a day or two with the stolen goods and jewellery.
