Driver arrested after car crushes policeman to death in Lahore

LAHORE: Police have registered a case against a man for running over two police officials in the Defence area Sunday night, resulting in the death of a policeman.

The suspect is the driver of the car owner.

The policemen, Mustansar and Qasim, were performing their duties at a picket in the post Defence area when the speeding car ran them over, resulting in the instant death of the former and inflicting serious injuries on Qasim. 

The injured policeman is under treatment at a hospital.

CCTV footage which has captured the incident shows the personnel attempting to run for their lives, as the car takes a sharp turn towards them while apparently trying to take over a car slowing ahead of it at the picket.
