OTTAWA: Canada's prime minister announced Wednesday CAN$5 million in humanitarian aid in Libya.
"The government of Canada will respond immediately to the emerging humanitarian crisis in Libya with up to CAN$5 million in humanitarian aid for medical care, food and shelter," Prime Minister Stephen Harper told parliament.
He also renewed calls for Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi to step aside and for Libyan authorities to "end their violence." (AFP)
