Population census in Sindh from April

KARACHI: The first phase of population census will begin in Sindh from April during which data relating to houses, buildings and non-residential units will be collected, Geo News reported Thursday.

According to the officials of statistics department, 23 administrative districts have been divided into 129 districts for population consensus.

In the first phase, data relating to all the residential and non-residential buildings will be gathered.

The first phase will see 10,000 government employees taking part in the exercise while in second phase 20,000 employees will take part.

The officials further said that the second phase is likely to kick off in September in which population will be accounted for.
