PMDC stops Dow, Ishratul Ebad institute from offering BDS admission

KARACHI: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has stopped Dow International Dental College and Dr Ishratul Ebad Institute of Oral Health Sciences from offering admission in their dental study programmes for the session of 2018-19. 

According to the Vice Chancellor of Dow University of Health Sciences Dr Saeed Qureshi, the PMDC inspection team had come to examine both college, which the PMDC said were not up to the mark.

Dr Qureshi further said that the admission in session of 2018-19 are subject to the permission of PMDC.

So far 100 seats for BDS in Dow and 50 seats at Ishratul Ebad institute are now sealed till the inspection of PMDC.

Dow university spokesman said its dental college and the Ishratul Ebad Institute have been associated with the university since 2012.

Moreover, 400 students who have completed their BDS are now waiting for their PMDC registration. Without the registration they cannot work in the country.
