Lahore votes for PML-N in by-election

LAHORE: The provincial capital voted for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz against the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the 2018 by-election held a day earlier.

Of the two National Assembly seats that were up for grabs from Lahore, PML-N won Lahore II and IX.

The NA-131, Lahore-IX seat was secured by PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique against PTI’s Humayun Akhtar.

Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, also from PML-N, retained the NA-124 seat won by Hamza Shehbaz in the general election, while also securing NA-103, where polls had been postponed.

Out of the provincial assembly seats, PML-N's Sohail Shaukat Butt emerged victorious in PP-164 by securing 34,333 votes. He was followed by PTI's Yousuf Ali with 26,900 votes.

PML-N’s Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar won by-polls in PP-165 by bagging 28,589 votes, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results. PTI’s Mohammad Mansha Sindhu stood runner-up with 23,149 votes to his credit.
