Army captain martyred in Mohmand IED explosion

RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Army captain embraced martyrdom while another soldier was critically injured while neutralising an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Mohmand District, military spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor said on Wednesday.

The funeral prayers of the martyred soldier were held today in Peshawar.

Captain Zarghaam Fareed, 25, was martyred as he was neutralising an IED detected at Mohmad Gat in Mohmand District. Sepoy Rehan of the bomb disposal squad was critically injured in the explosion, the director-general of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wrote on Twitter.

The 25-year old Captain Zarghaam was unmarried and belonged to Sargodha in Punjab, Major General Asif Ghafoor's tweet added.
