ISLAMABAD: National Highways & Motorway Police has recovered three stolen cars in last 24 hours by prompt action which were stolen from Rawalpindi.
Motorway Police was informed by Rawalpindi Police at 1710 hrs that a Suzuki Mehran car No. LXO-0902 has been stolen from the jurisdiction of Police station Cantt, Rawalpindi.
On this information the patrolling officers were cautioned and at about 1930 hrs the NH&MP officers SPO Muhammad Younas Ansari and PO Muhammad Rafiq saw the said car at Islamabad Main Toll Plaza (M-2), the officers tried to stop the car but the driver accelerated it and after going some far away the culprit stopped the car and fled away.
In 2nd incident Motorway Police was informed by Rawalpindi Police at 1923 hrs that a Suzuki Mehran car No. LZ-360 has been stolen.
On this information, the Motorway Police again cautioned all its patrolling officers. At about 1955 hrs the NH&MP officers SPO Muhammad Younas Ansari and PO Muhammad Rafiq saw the said car at Islamabad Main Toll Plaza (M-2) the officers tried to stop the car but the driver instead of stopping sped away and after going some far away the culprit stopped the car and fled away by taking the advantage of the darkness of night.
In 3rd incident, during routine patrolling, the Motorway Police officers PO Asad Ullah and PO Saifur Rehman observed a Xli Corolla Car No. Islamabad 363, parked on the hard shoulder of G.T. Road in the area of Taxila, while no body was present in or around the car.
The Motorway Police also informed the concerned Local Police about all these incidents and later on, the Motorway Police handed over the recovered vehicles in the presence of the owners to the concerned Local Police official Mr. Zaffarullah Khan.
