LEAs conduct search operation at Karachi Central Jail: sources

KARACHI: A search operation by the law enforcement authorities is underway in the Central Jail on a tip-off that inmates at the prison were making telephonic contacts with their aides from the premises, sources informed Geo News.

The personnel have searched the barracks of terrorists affiliated with proscribed organisations in the operation ongoing from last 10 hours.

The prisoners were not taken to the courts today for hearing due to the search operation.

The sources privy to development informed that the security forces during the operation took into custody prohibited material into their possession.

The search operation being led by the intelligence agencies personnel is also being carried at the Children Jail and Women Jail.
