LAHORE: The condition of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif worsened in Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore on Tuesday, sources said.

Nawaz, the leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), was found guilty in the Al Azizia Steel Mills reference filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and sentenced to seven years in prison on December 24, 2018. He remains incarcerated at Kot Lakhpat prison.

Sources said Tuesday that the former premier is suffering from high fever and body aches. They said a team of doctors would check up on Nawaz, however, his personal physician was not being allowed to meet him.
