Nawaz meets mother, daughter at hospital

LAHORE: Deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met with his mother and daughter at the Services Hospital here on Thursday.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Nawaz’s mother said she could not speak to reporters due to a throat infection.

“I pray that Allah helps Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif,” she said.

A day earlier, Geo News learnt that Nawaz Sharif had refused to be shifted to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and requested to be transferred back to Kot Lakhpat Jail.

Sharif has maintained that he was taken to the PIC before being shifted to the Services Hospital, hence it doesn’t feel appropriate for him to be wandered around.

Earlier this month, Nawaz Sharif was shifted from Kot Lakhpat Jail to the Services Hospital. A medical board constituted to monitor Sharif’s health had recommended that he be shifted to a hospital from prison.

Sharif is serving seven years’ imprisonment in the Al-Azizia Still Mills corruption case.
