DUBAI: Fast bowler Junaid Khan has said that he has not given up hopes of making a comeback stating that he targets Pakistan call during the fourth edition of PSL.

Speaking to Geo.tv after his Multan Sultans win against Islamabad United, the fast bowler said that he is happy to be getting professional cricket.

“I just try to concentrate on my cricket, weather I’m playing for Pakistan or playing league cricket or even club cricket. I enjoy every game I play because if you don’t enjoy your profession then you don’t grow in your career,” the 29-year-old said.

“I came back from injury and did good in BPL, now I’m playing here and I’m satisfied with how I have performed so far. Because the more you play, the more you get better.”

Junaid said that like every other player he also has World Cup berth in sight and want to give his best during the PSL to earn a call.

“I have belief in Almighty Allah that I will get a chance. There are 10-12 boys other than usual pool of 20 who have World Cup in their mind. No one knows yet who will be in the World Cup squad. If it’s in my fate then I will play,” he said.

“I’m sure if I show my fitness and performance then I will be picked. If you ask me, I will say that I consider myself to be fit for squad but it’s up to the selection committee, if I can play Test cricket coming from a village, then I’m sure I can also make a comeback on day.”

When asked if he’s frustrated because of not being picked by Pakistan team, the fast bowler from Swabi said that he is happy to be playing continuously in different leagues and he’s hopeful of making a comeback.

“While there’s life there’s hope, I’m also hopeful of making a comeback. I’m not frustrated because I’m getting cricket to play in different leagues,” he said.
