PCB fines Lahore Qalandars’ Haris Rauf for violating code of conduct

SHARJAH: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday decided to slap Lahore Qalandars’ fast bowler Haris Rauf with a fine worth 10 per cent of his match fee over a violation of its code of conduct.
The incident took place during the 10th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) wherein Qalandars beat Multan Sultans.
According to the PCB, Rauf had come face-to-face with Multan Sultans Dan Christian after the latter was run-out in a manner that was insulting and also against the game spirit.
The PCB further mentioned that on-field umpires Ranmore Martinesz and Shozab Raza as well as third and fourth umpires Rashid Riaz and Tariq Rasheed, respectively, had charged the bowler for violating Clause 2.1.4 of the Code of Conduct.
The clause states: “Using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during a match.”
Rauf was charged for Level-1 offence and, after pleading guilty to the offence, fined 10 percent of his match fees.
