Karakoram Express engine, bogies derail near Khanpur, no casualties

KHANPUR: The engine and several bogies of Karakoram Express derailed Sunday night here near the city, authorities said, but fortunately there were no casualties in the incident.

According to sources, the driver stopped the train in time, avoiding a major railway crash that could have led to fatalities. The train's speed was slow, which helped everyone escape unscathed, the driver said.

The train was en route from Karachi to Lahore. With some delay, it will be able to resume its journey.
