Senate special committee assures PTM of addressing Pashtun reservations

ISLAMABAD: A Senate committee headed by Barrister Saif assured Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement's representatives, MNA Mohsin Dawar and Manzoor Pashteen, of addressing their reservations in an in-camera briefing held on Tuesday, sources informed Geo News.

Pashteen and Dawar demanded the state of Pakistan to play its role in clearing up landmines and recover missing persons belonging to erstwhile FATA. The Pashtun representatives also said that efforts should be made by the lawmakers to set up a truth and reconciliation commission.

It was the very first formal historic meeting between the Senate members which lasted for three hours where both the parties openly expressed their views over a series of issues, said a statement issued by the Senate secretariat.

Pashteen urged the lawmakers to resolve the issues of people of the former FATA area – which was agreed by the lawmakers across the board.
