Young Doctors Association continues strike in Punjab for a fourth day

LAHORE: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) on Monday continued with its strike across government hospitals in Punjab against the Medical Teaching Institutions (MTI) Reform Act for a fourth straight day.

The outpatient department (OPD) at hospitals across Punjab are closed due to the YDA strike causing problems for patients.

The YDA has said that the strike at OPDs will continue till the acceptance of their demands. Their demands include stopping of the alleged privatisation of hospitals and implementation of MTI act, announcement of the service structure and provision of security to doctors.

Nurses protest in Peshawar

On the other hand, Young Nurses Association are continuing with protests in Peshawar for the fulfilment of their demands.

The nurses are demanding an increase in pay, proper service structure and regularisation of their services. Protesters have announced that they reject the Regional Health Authority and District Health Authority.
