World Cup 2019: Two more warm up matches to be played today

LONDON: As many as two more matches will be played today as warm-up matches are being played in full swing in England before the first match of the tournament scheduled on Thursday.

The first warm-up match will be played between Australia and Sri Lanka in Southampton at 10:30 am (local time), while, the hosting team England will play Afghanistan during the second warmup match at The Oval.

Australia and Afghanistan have already won their first warmup matches after defeating England and Pakistan respectively. The Proteases have also marked victory against Sri Lanka in their first warmup game.

The final two warmup matches before the beginning of ICC World Cup 2019 will be played tomorrow between West Indies, New Zealand and Bangladesh, India.

Meanwhile, the World Cup warm-up match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Sophia Gardens on Saturday was called off without a ball being bowled due to rain.

Bangladesh will play one more warm-up game against India tomorrow while Pakistan has no more warm-up matches to play, kicking off their 2019 World Cup campaign against West Indies on Friday at Trent Bridge.
