LAHORE: The lawyers representing singer Meesha Shafi on Thursday completed questioning five of the witnesses presented by peer Ali Zafar's team here in the city's sessions court.

Shafi had accused Zafar of sexual harassment and misconduct back in April 2018, in response to which the latter had filed a defamation case against the former.

The five witnesses, who, during the probe at the Lahore Session Court, said they were present in the rehearsal session, denied all accusations levelled by Shafi. No incident of harassment took place there, they said.

The hearing was related to the defamation case filed by Zafar.

The witnesses, among whom were two women as well, further went on to claim that Shafi had social and mainstream media run fake news to achieve bogus fame. All allegations in this regard were baseless, they added.

Additional Session Judge Amjad Ali Shah adjourned the hearing till 10AM tomorrow — Friday — to complete the questioning of the remaining four witnesses.
