ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday held a bilateral meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, wherein the two figures exchanged views on bilateral relations and Afghan peace and reconciliation process.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 14th Islamic Summit being held in Makkah-Al-Makarramah, a statement issued from the PM's office said.

The prime minister re-affirmed Pakistan's commitment to a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, it read.

PM Khan also underlined Pakistan's firm support for an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process for a political solution to Afghan issue.

The statement further said the forthcoming visit of President Ghani to Pakistan would provide an opportunity to further focus on political, security, economic and people-to-people aspects of Pakistan-Afghanistan relations.

Khan, Egypt's Sisi agree to boost bilateral cooperation

PM Khan also met with President of Egypt Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi and exchanged views with him on the whole range of bilateral, regional and international matters.

A statement from Khan's office said the issues being faced by Muslim world also came under discussion at the meeting.

The two leaders agreed to comprehensively upgrade cooperation in all fields, the statement read further.

They also agreed to increase frequency of bilateral political contacts and exchanges, it added.
