FAISALABAD: A member of the Punjab Assembly (MPA) associated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and his sons have been named in a first information report (FIR) registered on Sunday in Batala Colony police station for sexually abusing a minor domestic help.

In the FIR filed on behalf of 15-year-old domestic help's father, MPA Mian Tahir Jamil and two of his sons have been accused of sexually harassing the girl, whereas it is alleged that the PML-N member's wife beat the minor.

The minor's father has further claimed that his daughter was raped on at least two occasions, which prompted the police to have a medical test carried out on the girl.

The MPA's sons have been accused of engaging in inappropriate acts with the minor girl.

Though an FIR was registered consequently, no arrests have been made so far. However, Jamil denied all claims of sexual abuse and harassment and alleged that the minor girl was a thief.

Jamil also termed the allegations of sexual abuse to be an act of "political revenge".

Police, on the other hand, have commented that the MPA would be arrested tomorrow (Monday) once formalities of permission from the Punjab Assembly speaker have been completed.
